If you live in Portland, chances are you’ve at least seen a B-line delivery trike equipped with a big, snappy yellow cargo box perched behind its rider. These pedal-powered wonders began zipping through the streets of PDX in February 2009, partnering with local businesses to take over their “close-in” delivery needs. Since then, B-line has not only reduced those businesses’ dependence on trucks and vans, it’s also covered an estimated 16,000 miles of travel, delivered about 300,000 pounds of organic produce and reduced CO2 emissions by an approximated 37,000 pounds.
