Transitions
June 2011 was a month full of transition for B-Line. For those of you who interact with our team in the real world it may have seemed like a new rider was delivering your goods every time your door opened! Steve Rowe and Roberto Casanueva moved on from B-Line to pursue interests and opportunities outside of Portland. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work left it's mark on B-line and on Portland; and while we are sad to see them go, we wish them well in their new endeavors. In their place we we've hired five new riders and welcomed Bill Hewitt back to the team. Why so many? Well, we've grown! B-line is now servicing an AM bakery route for Pearl Bakery, a PM bakery route for Grand Central Bakery, a second route for Portland Roasting, Edible Portland, and the ReDirect Guide. We have also seen a steady uptick in deliveries across the board. Your eyes aren't fooling you --- you ARE seeing B-Line everywhere as our fleet of trikes crisscrosses the city from 8 to 5, seven days a week! This means more advertising opportunities for those of you who have or know of businesses looking to advertise with us and more opportunities to fulfill our social impact mission through increased B-Share activity.
As we grow we expect that there will be new challenges and opportunities ahead and I am excited about our team's ability to adapt and thrive. Be on the look out for our new riders' profiles and get to know them. They are the faces of B-Line and the lifeblood of our mission. Expect to hear their perspectives from the saddle in guest blogs soon.
Enjoy the summer Portland-- we sure will!
