Sustainable Business Oregon: Whole Foods, B-Line team for holiday drive

The Whole Foods Market on East Burnside Street announced Monday that it will partner with B-Line Sustainable Urban Delivery to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys by pedal while supporting B-Line's efforts to get surplus food into the hands of food-assistance nonprofit agencies.

In past years, Whole Foods Market Laurelhurst ordered its turkeys and stored them in a diesel-powered trailer. This year, the store will keep the birds at B-Line's nearby warehouse. As customers order the turkeys, they'll be pedaled over real-time on B-Line's cargo tricycles.
